Speakers announced for Groupwork Symposium

It will take place in York, September 9th-11th 2009

Keynote speakers will include Linday Finlay on Groupwork and Research.


Linda is an Academic Consultant, offering training/mentorship on how to apply qualitative research in health care and therapy practice. She also teaches psychology and writes with the Open University.

Qualifying originally as an occupational therapist, she obtained a psychology degree and PhD. Her interest in groupwork began when she worked at the Henderson Hospital Therapeutic Community in the late 70s. She has since used groupwork in her teaching and when working in the mental health field (Maudsley and St James’ Hospitals).

She has published widely, being best known for her textbooks on groupwork, psychosocial occupational therapy and qualitative research. Her latest book, Relational Centred Research for Psychotherapists (written with Ken Evans) is due to be published September 2009.
